Wills can sometimes be found in their original format, with the estate/probate papers. However, most wills are only available from the Probate Order books in the Clerk's Office. The records are on the 2nd floor.

Some of the very earliest wills were recorded in the deed books in the Recorder's Office. Our
library has a will book compiled by Maurice Holmes, which includes abstracts of all Shelby Co IN wills from 1822-1906.
