Last  Will  and  Testament  of  
Moses Parkison


From the court clerk's transcription, found in Book 1, p 418, Will Records of Shelby County, IN:

Know all men by these Presents, that I, Moses A. Parkison of the Township of Liberty, County of Shelby, State of Indiana, Farmer, being in ill health but sound and disposing mind and memory do make and publish this last Will and Testament; And as to my wordly estate and all the property Real, Personal or mixed, of which I shall die seized and possessed, or to which I shall be entitled at the time of my decease, I devise, bequeath and dispose thereof in the following manner to=wit:  First, my Will is that all my Just debts an funeral expenses shall by my executors herein after named, be paid out of my Estate as soon after my decease as shall by them be found convenient.
Item 1st:
I give, devise and bequeath to my beloved Mother, Mary Parkison, my gray mare and bed and bedding.
Item 2nd:
I give, devise and bequeath to my beloved brother, William H. Parkison, my black horse.
Item 3rd:
I give, devise and bequeath to my beloved brother, John W. Parkison, my buggy and buggy harness.
Item 4th:
I give, devise and bequeath to my beloved brothers, William Henri and John W. Parkison, all my corn and wheat and farm implements, to be equally divided between them.
Item 5th:
I give, devise and bequeath to my beloved brothers William H. and John W. Parkison, and to my beloved Sisters  Mary A. Phillips and  Phebe E. Parkison all my monies notes and accounts, to be equally divided between them after payment of all my just debts, Funeral expenses and to the purchase of a suitable monument to be placed at my grave.
Item 6th:
All the rest and residue of my estate, real, Personal and mixed, of which I shall die seized and possessed, or which I shall be entitled at my decease, I give devise and be- queath to said mother Mary Parkison. And lastly I do nominate and appoint Matthew J. Phillips and my Mother, Mary Parkison to be the executors of this my last Will and Testament.
In Testimony Whereof, I, the said Moses A. Parkison, have to this my last Will and Testament, contained on one sheet of paper, subscribed my name and affixed my seal, this the seventeenth day of December, One Thousand and Eight hundred and seventy-four.

Signed, sealed, published and declared by the said Moses A. Parkison as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us, who at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses thereto.
