Last  Will  and  Testament
of
Dicey  Estes


              I, Dicey Estes, of Shelbyville, in Shelby County, Indiana, do make and publish this my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking all former wills by me made.

              Item 1.  It is my will and I expressly direct, that all my just debts, including my funeral expenses and the expense of my last sickness be paid out of my estate

              Item 2.  I will, bequeath and devise, to my husband, Allen Estes, all of my property, both real and personal, to be held by him for and during the term of his natural life only.

              Item 3.  I will, bequeath and devise to Ida May Winslow, all the residue of my property, both real and personal, to be held by her absolutely, in fee-simple, subject only to the provisions of Item 1, and, Item 2, of this will.

              Item 4.  It is my Will and I expressly direct, that, my sister, Julia Watkins, take no part of my estate, whatever.

              Item 5.  It is my will and I expressly direct, that my niece, Lena Johnston, the daughter of my deceased sister, Susan Bell, take no part of my estate whatever.

              Item 6.  I nominate and appoint Ida May Winslow, executrix of this Will.


              In Witness Whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 4th day of August 1914.

              The foregoing will was signed, sealed and acknowledged by the said Dicey Estes, in our presence, and, was declared by her to be her last Will and Testament, and, at her request, and, in her presence, and, in the presence of each other, we now subscribe our names hereto as witnesses this 4th day of August 1914.

              Be it remembered, that on the 6th day of July A.D., 1916 the 46 judicial day of the May Term of the Shelby Circuit court in Said year, come into open Court Meiks and Hack Attys. and produces in Court an instrument in writing purporting to be the last will and Testament of Dicey Estes, deceased, and now moves the admittance thereof  to probate and record, and in proof of said Will introduces Charles A. Hack the subscribing witnesses thereto, who being duly sworn by the Clerk of said Court, on oath, declare and testify as follows. That is to say:  That on the 4th day of August, 1914 he saw the said Dicey Estes sign her name to said instrument in writing as and for her last Will and Testament; and that this deponent at the same time, heard the said Dicey Estes declare the said instrument in writing to be her last Will and Testament, and that the said instrument in writing was, at the same time, at the request of the said Dicey Estes and with her consent attested and subscribed by the said Charles A. Hack and Geo. H. Meiks in the presence of said testator, and in the presence of each other, as subscribing witnesses thereto, and that the said Dicey Estes was, at the time if the signing and subscribing of said instrument in writing, as aforesaid, of full age (that is, more than twenty-one years of age) and of sound and disposing mind and memory, and not under any coercion or restraint, as the said deponent verily believes, and further deponent says not.

              Sworn to and subscribed by the said Charles A. Hack before me Cecil B. Collins Clerk of said Court, at Shelbyville, the 6th day of July 1916.

              Whereupon it is ordered, adjudged and decreed by the Court that said instrument in writing purporting to be the last Will of Dicey Estes deceased, is the last Will and Testament of Dicey Estes deceased, and is hereby admitted to probate and record in this Court.

              I, Cecil B. Collins Clerk of the Circuit Court of Shelby County, Indiana, do hereby certify that the within annexed Will and Testament of Dicey Estes has been duly admitted to probate, and duly proved by the testimony of Charles A. Hack one of the subscribing witnesses thereto, that a complete record of said Will, and of the testimony of the said Charles A. Hack in proof thereof, has been by me duly made and recorded in Book 7 at pages 141 and 142 of the record of Wills of said County.

              In Attestation Whereof, I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed the seal of said Court, at Shelbyville Indiana, this 6 day of July 1916.
