MRS.  LYDIA  POWERS
DIED  IN  FLORIDA
----------
Widow of Former County Clerk
Passed Away at Home in
St. Augustine.
----------
Announcement of the death of  Mrs. Lydia Powers,  widow of  J. W. Powers,  a former clerk of the Shelby circuit court, which occurred at St. Augustine, Fla., was received by friends and relatives in this community, Sunday.  Mrs. Powers had resided at St. Augustine since December, having gone there from Fairland, where she had lived for many years.
Mrs. Powers had been in declining health for a number of years, and her removal to Florida last winter for the benefit of her health seemed to cause but little improvement in her condition.  At the time of death, she was seventy-five years old.
During practically her entire lifetime, she had lived in the Fairland community and she had hundreds of friends thruout the county who regret deeply the announcement of her death.  She is survived by a daughter,  Mrs. Storer Green  and two sons,  Rollie and  Ollie Powers,  all at home.
The body will be placed in a receiving vault at St. Augustine, and will probably be brought to Fairland later, for funeral services and burial. Contributed by Phyllis Miller Fleming
