The Shelbyville RepublicanMrs. Etta M. Pond, 81, wife of Henry Pond, died at her home six miles south of thie city on the Thompson pike at 11:15 a.m. Sunday following an illness of a year and a half.

Born in Marion, Shelby county, Nov. 26, 1864, she was the daughter of Leander and Anna Kennedy. Her mother was from a Quaker family near Carthage. Mr. and Mrs. Pond were married April 7, 1885. She was a member of the First Methodist Church.
Surviving are the husband; one daughter, Mrs. Anna Zemer, Indianapolis; four sons, Clarence Pond, Shelbyville; Earl, Los Angeles, Cal.; Clyde, Michigan City and Elmer of Washington township; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A daughter, Carrie Helen died in infancy.
Funeral services will be held in the Morris H. Sleeth mortuary at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday with Dr. J. W. McFall officiating. Burial will be in the family lot in Forest Hill. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. today.
