Norma Martin Kearns, 89, of Shelbyville, died Saturday, July 9, 2005, at Heritage House Convalescent Center.Wednesday, July 13, 2005

Born June 27, 1916, in Vermillion County, she was the daughter of the late Roscoe B. Martin and Elizabeth J. Houchin. She married Russell Riggin, and he preceded her in death in 1945. She married Grant C. Kearns on Jan. 13, 1949, and he preceded her in death on May 23, 2001.
Survivors include two sons, Herbert (Lydia) Riggin of Shelbyville and Martin Riggin of Brazil; one daughter, Nancy Jarvis of Greenwood; one sister, Pearl Spurgeon on[sic] Michigan; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by one daughter, Beverly Moore, and one brother, Keith Martin.
Mrs. Kearns was a home-maker.
Visitation and funeral services were Tuesday at Overpeck-Gooch Funeral Home, 225 Maple St. in Dana.
Private burial was in Bono Cemetery.
