HENRY  EDWARD  WORKING

          Henry Edward Working, 86, retired contractor and lifelong resident of Miami County, died at 4:40 a.m. Thursday at Dukes Hospital after several years' illness.  He was born in Erie Township, March 31, 1867, son of  John and  Amanda Hostetler Working.  He was married in Chili, Feb 21, 1895 to  Martha Ellen Keim, who died in 1941.  He was a member of the Erie E. U. B. Church and Peru Lodge, Loyal Order of Moose.  Surviving are six children,  Ralph Working,  Mrs. George Shanahan,  Mrs. Kathryn Russell  and  Mrs. Bruce Pyle, Peru;  Mrs. Robert Pontious, Danville, Ill., and  Mrs. E. F. Fuqua, Los Angeles, Calif.; twelve grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren; four brothers,  William, North Vernon, Ind.,  Albert, Shelbyville;  L. D., Kokomo and  Andrew, Logansport, and six sisters,  Mrs. Christian Wilson, Wabash;  Mrs. Charles Stroman, York, Neb.;  Mrs. Effie Jones, Lincoln, Neb.;  Mrs. Maude Tanner, Kalamazoo, Mich,;  Mrs. Ora Fawley, Ft. Wayne and  Mrs. Forest Hartz, Detroit.  Funeral services will be held from the Allen Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Saturday, the Rev. C. W. Miller, officiating.  Burial will be in the Chili Cemetery.  The body will remain at the funeral home where friends may call after 2 p.m. Friday.
