Marian Meiks Tomeo, 91, Shelbyville died Wednesday, March 26, 2008,
atMajor Hospital. Born June 16, 1916, in Shelby County, d/o Scott and Lecta E. (Hauk) Meiks. Married John F. Tomeo on June 2, 1942, and he preceded her in death on March 19, 1945. Survivors: son, David (wife, Betty) Tomeo of Indianapolis. Preceded in death by her parents; stepmother, Della Meiks who raised her; and brother, Robert Meiks. |
Graduated from Shelbyville High School, attended DePauw University for two years and then Indiana Business College.
Member of First United Methodist Church, Delta Theta Tau sorority for more than 45 years, COTERIE and BP Club.
Liked to crochet and was an avid reader.
Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel, with the Rev. Robert Campbell officiating.
Interment: Forest Hill Cemetery.
