----------
FUNERAL  SERVICE  TUESDAY
----------
Widow, Six Children, Nineteen Grandchildren,
Twenty Great-Grandchildren Survive
------------
In the death of the  Rev. Solomon P. Stainbrook, eighty-seven years of age which occurred at his home at 334 East Pennsylvania street at 6:45 o'clock Saturday evening, the Methodist Protestant church in Indiana lost one of its oldest and most able leaders.
Rev. Stainbrook had help to organize the Vine Street Methodist Protestant church, with the assistance of the Rev. J. G. Smith, and had been an ordained minister for thirty-five years, serving charges in various parts of the state.  He was a pastor of the first seven years of its existence.
For the last five years Mr. Stainbrook had been in declining health.  His condition became serious eighteen days ago.  Death was due to senility and complications incident to his old age.
He was born in Muskegon county, Ohio, on October 5, 1844.  At the age of 21, he came to Indiana.  His marriage to Miss Medora Wood, who survives, took place August 6, 1866.  They would have celebrated their sixty-sixth wedding anniversary next month.
Besides the widow, Rev. Stainbrook leaves six of the ten children born to them:  Mrs. Alice Leffler, of St. Paul;  Mrs. Goldie Northern of Milford;  Mrs. Calvin Hewitt,  Mrs. Carrie E. Jones, and  Mrs. Joseph Wright, all of Shelbyville; and  Clyde Stainbrook, of Indianapolis.  Mrs. George Stainbrook of this city is a daughter-in-law of the deceased.  Her husband, who was a minister, passed away on March 6 of this year.  Nineteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren also survive.  Rev. Stainbrook was the last of a family of eleven children.
The funeral service will be held in the Vine Street M. P. church at ten o'clock tomorrow morning, with the Rev. George W. Farrow, president of the Indiana Conference of Methodist Protestant churches, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Arville Owens, pastor of the Vine Street Church.  A second service will be held in the Union Chapel, south of St. Paul, near the former home of the deceased, and burial will be in the family lot in the Union Chapel cemetery, in charge of C. F. Fix & Son.
Ministers of the Methodist Protestant church from over the entire state are expected to be present for the service.  From the group will be chosen the pall bearers.  Their wives will also act as flower bearers.  Friends may call at the home at any time.
