          Stricken with a heart seizure after working in his garden in Walkerville Thursday morning,  Joseph H. Sermersheim  age 76, dropped dead at 11:00 o'clock in the Kennedy park while talking with his son-in-law,  Leroy Knight,  caretaker at the park.
          Mr. Sermersheim, whose home is at 201[?] east Jackson street, had been in failing health for the past year and had been under a dector's care.  Dr. C. J. Price,  county coroner, was called following his death, however.
          Mr. Sermersheim was born October 2, 1866 in Dubois county, Indiana, the son of  Mr. and Mrs. John J. Sermersheim.  He had been a resident of Shelbyville for the past 27 years and had been employed at the Shelbyville Desk Company 27 years.
          He was married to  Miss Anna Genther  54 years ago and the widow survives with five of the seven children born to them.  The children are:  Mrs. Leroy Knight,  Mrs. Jasper Kelly,  Mrs. Everett Bowers  and  Gilbert Sermersheim,  all of this city, and  Edwin Sermersheim  in the U.S. Army and stationed in Florida.  One son died while serving in the Navy 21 years ago.
          He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; three brothers,  Michael  and  John Sermersheim,  of Jasper, Ind., and  Albert,  of Orleans, Ind., and one sister,  Mrs. Helen Lechner,  of Lagootee, Ind.
          Funeral services will be held at 9:00 a.m. Monday in the St. Joseph Catholic church with the  Rev. Clement Zepf,  pastor, officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery in charge of C.F. Fix & Son.  Friends may call at the mortuary after noon today.
