          Pat A. Siefert,  78, of Shelbyville, died Friday, Dec. 15, 2006, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility in Columbus.  Born Nov. 22, 1928, in Shelbyville, she was the daughter of  Raymond and  Eva (Pope) Cherry.  She married  Walt Siefert  on July 2, 1948, and he preceded her in death on June 10, 1997.
          Survivors include one son,  Wade E. Siefert (wife, Katie) of Shelbyville; three daughters,  Linda K. Moulton (husband, Tom),  Penny J. Gunckel (husband, William) and  Theresa M. Aulby,  all of Shelbyville; 10 grandchildren,  Tonya Hopper,  Charles Popplewell,  Michael Hackworth,  Sandra R. Burnett,  Donald R. Burnine,  Amberla Fields,  Chuck Sleeth,  April Smith,  Mary Wilson  and  Stacey Siefert;  and 23 great-grandchildren.  She also was preceded in death by her parents; one son,  Wally Siefert;  one sister,  Loretta Cord;  and one great-granddaughter,  Destiny Popplewell.
          Mrs. Siefert was a lifelong Shelbyville resident.  She had been a vinyl siding contractor with Siefert Construction Inc. for 46 years, retiring in 2003.  Mrs. Siefert graduated in 1947 from Shelbyville High School.  She was a member of Lewis Creek Baptist Church, American Legion Post No. 70 Ladies Auxiliary and the Order of the Eastern Star.  She was a former member of the Blue River Motorcycle Club.
          Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road.  Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jim Stephens officiating.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, in care of Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, Shelbyville, IN 46176.

          Karen E. Siefert,  55, of Shelbyville, died Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2004, at Heritage House Convalescent Center.  Born March 4, 1949, in Shelbyville, she was the daughter of  Cecil Albert and  Edith Mac (Wells) Henderson.  She married  Wally R. Siefert  on March 26, 1984,* and he preceded her in death on April 21, 1987.
          Survivors include three daughters,  Elizabeth Bullard,  April Bullard  and  Casandra Bullard,  all of Shelbyville; two sisters,  Beverly (Robert) Lane  of Shelbyville and  Sherri Thomas  of Bristol, Va.; one brother,  William ( Theresa) Aulby  of Shelbyville; mother-in-law,  Patricia Siefert  of Shelbyville; two sisters-in-law,  Linda (Thomas) Moulton  and  Penny (William) Gunkel,  both of Shelbyville; brother-in-law,  Wade Siefert  of Shelbyville; and 10 grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter,  Tabitha Dawn Bullard;  one brother,  Larry D. Henderson;  and father-in-law,  Walt Siefert.
          Mrs. Siefert was a lifelong Shelbyville resident.  She was a certified nursing assistant at Heritage House Convalescent Center for more than 10 years.  Mrs. Siefert attended Evangelical United Methodist Church.
          Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. today at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road.  Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. today t the funeral home, with the Rev. Tim Hampton officiating.  Memorial contributions may be made to Karen E. Siefert Memorial Fund, in care of Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, Shelbyville, IN 46176.

Walter E. Seifert [sic--Siefert*]

          Walter "Walt" E. Siefert,  71, Shelby County, died Tuesday in an accident in a home-build airplane.  Born on Nov. 2, 1925, in Shelby County, he was the son of  Walter E. Sr. and  Mattie (Imlay) Siefert. On July 2, 1948, he married  Patricia (Cherry) Siefert,  and she survives.
          Mr. Siefert was the owner of Siefert Construction Co. in Shelby County for 40 years.  He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.  He was a member of Lewis Creek Baptist Church, Shelbyville American Legion Post 70 and the Shelbyville Eagles Lodge.
          In addition to his wife, survivors include three daughters,  Linda Hackworth,  Greensburg,  Penny Cunckel,*  Shelby County, and  Theresa Aulby,  Waldron; a son,  Wade Siefert,  Shelbyville; two sisters,  Joetta Lyons,  Lumpo, Calif., and  Niola Small,  Tipton; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by one son.
          Funeral services were scheduled for 2 p.m. today at Glenn E. George Funeral Home in Shelbyville with the Rev. Cliff Bunch officiating.  Burial will be in Lewis Creek Baptist Cemetery, Shelby County.  Calling was from 9 a.m. to time of the service today.  Shelbyville veterans' organization will conduct military graveside rites.

Married March 16, 1979, to Karen E. Henderson.
Survivors:  wife;  parents; daughters, Mary Ellen Siefert,  Elizabeth Bullock,  Cassandra Bullock  and  April Bullock, all of Shelbyville; brother, Wade Siefert, Shelbyville; sisters, Mrs. Walter (Linda Kay) Atworth,  Mrs. David (Penny) Emmert  and  Mrs. Richard (Theresa) Tindall, all of Shelbyville.

          The many friends of  Edward Seifert,  47 years old, will regret to learn of his death which occurred at his home, 927 Eastern avenue, Indianapolis, this morning at 10 o'clock.  He died from influenza with which he had suffered since the first of last week.  Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
          Mr. Seifert was a resident of this city until two years ago, when he moved to Indianapolis, where he was manager of the Indiana Taxi Co., located on east New York street.  While a resident of this city he was the owner of the Siefert garage, on east Washington street, which is now owned by his brother,  John Seifert.  Mr. Seifert was the son of  Jacob Seifert,  of east Hendricks street, and was born in 1875.  He had spent practically his entire life in Shelbyville, where he was favorably known.  He was a member of the Knights of St. John and Knights of Columbus lodges of this city.
          His death comes as a great shock to his relatives and friends in Shelbyville and Shelby county as no one knew of his serious illness.  He was a man of excellent character and was an expert mechanic.
          On Sept. 3, 1903, he was united in marriage to Miss Freda Koch, of this city.  To this union three daughters,  Elizabeth,  Hildreth,  Helen  and one son,  Robert,  were born.  Besides the wife and children mentioned, he is survived by five brothers, namely,  Frank  and  John H.,  of this city;  William  and  Charles,  of Indianapolis, and  August,  of San Francisco, Cal.; three step-brothers,  Lewis,  of this city;  Oscar,  of Franklin, and  Harry Seifert,  of Indianapolis.  He also leaves a step-sister,  Mrs. Anna Bierck.  of Cincinnati, O.

          The funeral of Mrs. Siefert will not take place until to-morrow morning instead of this morning, as announced in yesterday's Democrat.  The mistake was not the fault of the Democrat, as the notice was so reported.

          Mary P. Siefert,  wife of  Jacob Siefert,  of this city, died at ten o'clock last night, aged thirty-three years and nine months.  The funeral services will be held at St. Joseph's Church in this city at half-past eight o'clock to-morrow morning, Rev. Torbeck officiating.  At the conclusion of the services the remains will be interred in the new cemetery, two and one-half miles northeast of this city.  The following gentlemen will act as pall-bearers:  Joseph Kopp,  Frank Rehme,  Samuel O'Connor, Sr.,  Joseph Brink,  William Boenning  and  John B. Hardebeck.  Funeral directors, D. B. Wilson & Son.
