Mrs. Louise Schaf, Age Seventy-Six,
Was Resident of Town Half Century

FUNERAL  SERVICE  MONDAY

          Mrs. Louise Schaf, age seventy-six, widow of  Nicholas Schaf, and a resident of Prescott, Shelby County for fifty years, died Thursday morning at 6:45 o'clock at her home in Prescott.  Her death was caused by a complication of diseases.  Mrs. Schaf was well and most favorably known through the Prescott and Waldron community.
          She was born April 10, 1850 in Dearborn county, in November 1868, she was married to Mrs. Schaf.  His death occurred a few years ago.  Ten children were born to them, six of whom survive.  Mrs. Schaf had long been a member of the St. Vincent Catholic Church, east of Shelbyville.
          She leaves four daughters,  Mrs. Harry C. VanWay, of Shelbyville;  Mrs. Louis Hoffman, of Indianapolis;  Mrs. Henry Rehme, of Rushville; and  Mrs. L. W. Miller, of Prescott, and two sons,  John Schaf, of Prescott, and  F. L. Schaf, of Springfield, Ohio.  Twenty grandchildren and three great grandchildren also survive.
          Mrs. Schaf also is survived by one brother, Louis Kuntz, of Shelbyville, and a sister,  Mrs. Caroline Firsich, of near Prescott.
          Funeral services will be conducted at the St. Vincent Catholic church Monday morning at nine o'clock, the Rev. Father Duffy, pastor officiating.  Burial will be made in the church cemetery, R. T. Stewart in charge.  Please omit flowers.  Friends may call at the home from Saturday evening until the hour of the funeral.

Nicholas Schaf Was Resident of Shelby County
More Than Fifty Years

          Nicholas Schaf, age seventy-nine, resident of Shelby county for more than half a century, died Sunday afternoon at one-thirty o'clock at his home in Prescott.  His death was caused by a complication of diseases.
          Mr. Schaf was one of the better known farmers of the southeast part of the county.  He had lived on the farm where he died for forty-seven years.  Mr. Schaf was a member of the St. Vincent Catholic church.  He was born in Dearborn county [October 28] 1846, and had been a resident of Shelby county since 1872.  Mr. Schaf was married in 1868 to  Miss Louise Kuntz.  Ten children were born to them, six surviving.
          Besides the widow, Mr. Schaf leaves four daughters, Mrs. Harry VanWay, of Shelbyville;  Mrs. Louis Huffman, of Indianapolis;  Mrs. Henry Rehme, of Dayton, Ohio;  Mrs. Lawrence Miller, of Prescott, and two sons, John Schaf, at home, and  Frank, of Springfield, Ohio.  Twenty grandchildren and three great grandchildren also survive.
          Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at nine o'clock at St. Vincent church.  Burial will be made in the church cemetery, R. T. Stewart in charge.
          Friends are kindly requested to omit flowers.
