          Richard Ora McBane, third son of Geo. and Mary Belle McBane, was born in Shelby county, Indiana, Feb. 23, 1886 and passed from this life at his home in the Oakland township, Jan. 17, 1938. He moved with his parents to Kansas in 1896 and grew to manhood in this vicinity. He was united in marriage to Bessie May Bumgardner Dec. 1, 1909. He leaves to mourn, his devoted wife, and Harry Davis, who has made his home with them and was loved as if their own child; four brothers, Pearl, of Oakland township; Albert, of Wichita; Perry and Frank of Glasco; two sisters, . Geo. Copple of Glasco and Mrs. Wm. Giesecke of Delphos. His father and mother and an infant sister preceded him in death, also a number of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was a kind and loving husband, a friend and neighbor to all and many friends were numbered among his acquaintances. He has been in poor health for several years. His passing leaves sadness and gloom in the home and community.
          The funeral was held from the Meredith Christian church Jan. 19, Rev. J.F. Insley, pastor of the Heber church, officiated and interment was in Oakland Union cemetery.

          George Marion McBane was born at Greenville (sic), Shelby county, Ind., January 9, 1856 and departed this life at the home of his son Perry at Glasco, Kansas, June 3, 1927 at the age of 71 years, 5 months and 24 days.
          His early life was spent in the vicinity of Greenville (sic).
          He was married to Mary Bell Copple February 3, 1881. To this union was born ten children, three of which died in infancy. His wife Mary Bell preceded him in death five years ago last April.
          His immediate family that survive are five sons, Pearly and Richard of Miltonvale, Albert of Wichita, Perry and Frank of Glasco. Also two daughters, Mrs. Hallie Kappel of Glasco and Mrs. Nellie Gesecke of Delphos. One sister, Mrs. Julia Bass, of Erie, Kansas, one brother, Levi of Texas. Twelve grandchildren survive besides many other relatives and friends.
          He moved with his family from Indiana to near Miltonvale in the year of 1896 where he resided until the death of his wife. Since then he has made his home with his children at Glasco.
          Early in life he gave his heart to his Master and affiliated himself with the Christian Church. He passed away peacefully, glad in the thought that he would soon be at rest with Jesus.
          Funeral services were held at the Christian Church Sunday afternoon under the direction of Rev. Kaiser of Beloit. Interment was in the Glasco Cemetery.

          Mary Bell Copple McBane was born in Shelby county, Indiana, Feb. 18, 1865 and died at Glasco, Kansas, April 17, 1922, aged 57 years, 1 month and 29 days.
          She was united in marriage to George McBane Feb. 8, 1881. To this union 7 children were born, Pearle Lee McBane of Miltonvale, Albert Carey McBane of El Dorado, Richard Ora McBane of Miltonvale, Mrs. Hallie Kappel of Glasco, Mrs. Nellie Giesecke of Delphos, Perry William McBane of Glasco and John Franklin McBane of Glasco.
          Mr. and Mrs. McBane and family moved from Indiana to Kansas in Feb. 1896. They have resided in the country near Delphos or Glasco ever since, until 4 years ago, when they moved to Glasco.
          Mrs. McBane has been an invalid for the past 7 years. Only at times was she able to move about the house and do a little light work. One year ago she was severely burned in a gasoline explosion and received injuries from it which it was thought she could not survive.
          Death came very unexpectedly, Monday forenoon, April 17. Funeral services were held at the M.E. church, Wednesday afternoon conducted by Rev. F.N. Stelson.
