DAVID  E.  "EDDIE"  HOLDREN

          David E. Holdren,  74, 822 W. Franklin St., former Fairland resident, died Monday evening of apparent suicide.  Mr. Holdren, a self-employed heating and air conditioning contractor, had been a member of the Sugar Creek Masonic Lodge, Moose Lodge No. 2118 and Boggstown Presbyterian Church.
          A son of  William and  Rilla (Randolph) Holdren,  he was born Feb. 9, 1913, in St. Paul.  He was married June 1, 1939, in Shelbyville, to  Mary Ferris Armstrong,  who preceded him in death April 2, 1963.
          Surviving are  Virginia Hilkene,  with whom he resided; sons,  David N. Holdren,  Shelbyville,  Michael Holdren,  Athens, Ala.; daughters,  Mrs. Lewis (Kathy) Weaver  and  Mrs. Patricia Means,  Shelbyville; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister,  Mrs. Charlotte Read,  Indianapolis; and brothers,  Charles Holdren and  Carl Holdren,  both of Indianapolis.  Two sisters preceded him in death.
          Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Ewing Mortuary with the Rev. James Horner officiating.  Burial will be in Boggstown Cemetery.  Friends may call after 4 p.m., Thursday at the mortuary where a masonic service will be held at 8 p.m.
