          William Thomas Fortune, 58, 233 East Third St., died at the Wabash Railroad Employees Hospital at 1:15 a.m. Friday after one week's illness.  Mr. Fortune was a car inspector for the Wabash Railroad and had lived in Peru for 48 years.  He was a veteran of World War I, a charter member of Glen Owens Post of the American Legion, the Knights of Pythias and the First Christian. Born Church.  Born at Shelbyville, August 23, 1897, he was the son of  Alfred J.  and  Mary Neeves Fortune.  He was married to  Mary Slusser  in 1922 and she survives.  Also surviving is a son,  Robert  of Ironton, O., and four grandchildren.  One brother is deceased.  Friends may call at the Drake-Flowers Funeral Home after 7 p.m. Saturday.  Funeral services will be held from the First Christian Church at 2 p.m. Monday with the Rev. Avery W. Miley officiating.  Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.  The body will lie in state at the church one hour preceding services.

THE  ANGEL  OF  DEATH

(From Monday’s Daily)
          Mary F., wife of James Fortune, died at their residence 410 Circle street at 5:30 p.m. Sunday of brain trouble, age 21 years, 10 months and 22 days.  She leaves a father, mother, husband, five brothers and five sisters to mourn her loss.  Funeral services will be held at the house Tuesday at 2 p.m. Rev. H. O. Pritchard officiating.  The casket will be open to the friends from 6:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.  Interment in Forest Hill cemetery in charge of R. T. Stewart.

          David L. infant son of Mr. and Mrs. James Fortune, died at their home in Circle street at 5:30 o’clock Friday evening.  Short services at 220 Circle street today at 2 p.m. Interment in Forest Hill Cemetery.  R. T. Stewart in charge.
