MRS. FORT  DIES  AT  HOME  HERE

Rites Wednesday For Wife Of Former School Principal

          Mrs. Gertrude Fort, wife of  Walter S. Fort, former principal of the Booker T. Washington school, died at her home at 825 Blanchard Street, at 6:50 o'clock this morning.
          Mrs. Fort was 62 years of age, and had been ill for the past three weeks.
          She was born in Shelby county on October 15, 1886, the daughter of  Rufus  and  Katie Morgan.  With the exception of a few years in Chicago and Columbus, Ohio, she had always resided in this community.  Her marriage to Mr. Fort took place on December 25, 1937.
          Surviving with Mr. Fort are a brother, Earl Morgan  of Indianapolis, one half-brother, Arthur Morgan  of Cleveland, Ohio, one niece, one nephew and one grand nephew.
          Mrs. Fort was a member of the Second Baptist Church and  Rev. Noel N. Hord, pastor of the church, assisted by Rev. Cheffin, will conduct the funeral services at the Ewing Mortuary Wednesday at 2:00 p.m.  Burial will be in forest Hill cemetery.  Friends may call at the mortuary after 6:00 p.m. Tuesday.
