Robert Cropper, 77, Shelby Township Farmer
Dies at Hospital
------------
          Robert (Bob) Cropper, age seventy-seven, widely known Shelby township farmer living near Fenns, died at 2:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Major Hospital here following a two-week illness.  His death was due to pneumonia.
          The son of  John and Emily Cropper, he was born November 11, 1862, in Rush county, and was married to Mrs. Sarah Hendrickson 45 years ago.  She died 24 years ago.  One child born to the union died in infancy.  Survivors are two nieces, Mrs. Leonard McQueen and  Mrs. Earl Shoaf, of Washington township; two half-sisters, both living in California, and a step-son, Earl Hendrickson, of Akron, Ohio.
          He was a brother of  William Cropper, who died in 1936.  Funeral services will be held at the C. F. Fix & Son mortuary at 2:00 p.m. Thursday.  Rev. Ray Bozell, of Edinburg will officiate, assisted by Rev. Henry White, of Flat Rock, and burial will he made in Forest Hill cemetery.  Friends may call at the mortuary at any time.

Death of Prominent Washington Township Man
Follows Illness

          William E. Cropper, 76 years old, died at 5:30 o'clock Saturday evening while sitting in a chair at his home in Flat Rock.
          Dr. William R. Tindall, county coroner, stated that death was due to cerebral hemorrhage.  Mr. Cropper had been in failing health for several months.
          The deceased was a prominent farmer of Washington township and was born in Shelby county June 23, 1860.  His marriage to Miss Sarah Cherry, who passed away on August 9, 1928, took place on March 20, 1887.
          Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Earl Shoaf, of near Lewis Creek, and Mrs. Leonard McQueen, of near Flat Rock; three grandchildren, one brother, Robert Cropper, of Fenns Station, and two half-sisters in California.
          The body was taken to the Morris H. Sleeth funeral home, where funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon.  The Rev. Ray Bozelle will officiate and burial will be in Forest Hill ememtery.  Please omit flowers.

Occurred Early This Morning

          The death of  Mrs. Sarah E. Cropper, age 65, occurred at her home in Washington township, one mile south of Flat Rock at 4:20 o'clock this morning.  Mrs. Cropper had been ill since March suffering from heart disease and dropsy.  The daughter of  Mr. and Mrs. Eli Cherry, Mrs. Cropper was born in this county June 18, 1863.  She was married to William Cropper March 20, 1887.  To this union four children were born, two of whom, Mrs. Meryl Shoaf of near Hope and  Mrs. Breanious McQueen of near Flat Rock, survive.  Mrs. Cropper is also survived by three grandchildren, two brothers, Stephan Cherry of this city and  Charles Cherry of Kokomo.
          Mrs. Cropper was a member of the Flat Rock M. E. Church and of the Pythian Sisters of Flat Rock.  Funeral services will be held at the home at two o'clock Saturday afternoon with the Rev. J. T. Thomas of Indianapolis, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Merritt Machlin.  Burial will be in Forest Hill cemetery in charge of Morris Sleeth.

MRS.  SARAH  CROPPER
Died Wednesday Night at Her Home South of Shelbyville

          Mrs. Sarah Cropper, wife of  Robert Cropper, died Wednesday night at eight o'clock at her home eight miles south of here.  She was fifty-one years old.  Death was caused by dropsy.  Mrs. Cropper had been in ill health for the past four years, and had been confined to her bed for the past six weeks.
          She was married December 24, 1893.  For a number of years she has been a member of the Pleasant Grove Christian church, which is near her home.  She leaves her husband, four brothers, Will and Robert Collins, of Howard county;  Frank and Richard Collins of Hendricks township, this county; three sisters, Mrs. Stephen Runyon, of Hendricks township;  Mrs. Ed. Smith, of Fairland, and  Mrs. Charles Hey, of Noble township.  Her aged mother, Mrs. Leah Collins, also survives.
          The funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at two o'clock in the Pleasant Grove Christian Church, the Rev. W. E. Carroll, pastor of the Christian church of this city, officiating.  Burial will be made in Forest Hill cemetery.

          Infant daughter of  Mr. and Mrs. William Cropper  died at their residence in Shelby Township at 9 o'clock p.m. July 23 and will be buried at Lewis Creek Baptist Church at 10 o'clock a.m. today. D. B. Wilson & Son funeral directors.

          John [W.], the 20 month old son of  Mr. and Mrs. William Cropper  died at their residence in Shelby township, at 10:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 25th.  The remains will be buried Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock at the Lewis Creek Baptist church cemetery.  Short service at the house by the Rev. M. J. Jackson. D. B. Wilson & Son, funeral directors.
