James J. Burchfield Dies In Indianapolis
Funeral Thursday

          James J. Burchfield, 79 years old, former resident of Manilla and St. Paul, died at the home of his son, James Burchfield, Jr., in Indianapolis at 9:25 o'clock Tuesday morning after an illness of three weeks of heart disease.  The deceased was born May 21, l856.  He was twice married, his first marriage being to Miss Margaret Leffler.  Her death occurred in 1885.  Later he was married to Louise Smith, who died in 1912.  Mr. Burchfield was a member of the Clarksburg Christian church.  Surviving are two sons, James, Jr., of Indianapolis;  Jesse Burchfield, of Beach Grove; a daughter, Mrs. Fred Ormsby, of Indianapolis; eight grand- children; four great-grandchildren, and a sister  Mrs. Ella Champ, of Clifford.  Funeral services will be conducted at the residence of the son where Mr. Burchfield died, at 1:00 o'clock Thursday afternoon with the Rev. Reuben Lindstrom, pastor of the Southport Christian church, officiating.  Burial will be in the St. Paul cemetery in charge of Ezra Carmony.
