          John E. Berauer, a self-employed mechanic from Waldron, died at 4:30 a.m. today at Major Hospital. Berauer was 60.
          Funeral services will be at the Carmony-Ewing (Broadway) home Monday, December 26 at 10 a.m.  The Rev. David Cummings will officiate.  Burial will be at the VanPelt Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home between 4-8 p.m. Sunday, December 25.
          Berauer was born November 15, 1928 in Shelby County.  He was a lifelong resident of the Waldron area.  The son of Omer and  Minnie (Skillman) Berauer, he is survived by two sisters:  Wilma Scheffler, Shelbyville and  Delores "Sugar" Eacret, Waldron.
          Berauer married  Rose Newton, December 8, 1951.  She and their four children - Joyce Tilford, Shelbyville; James Apple, Shelbyville; Dolly Berauer, Shelbyville and  Robert Berauer, Waldron - survive.  Six grandchildren also survive. Berauer served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, and was a member of the Waldron United Methodist Church.  Memorial contributions may be made to that church.

Omer Berauer, 77, Waldron, died today, Shelbyville.
Retired owner-operator of Berauer's Garage, Waldron, 30 years.
Lifelong Waldron area resident.
Born September 10, 1902, s/o  John Jay  and  Kathrine Garrett Berauer.
Married  Edith Henderson,  May 29, 1951, in Wanamaker.
Surviving:  spouse;  three children, Mrs. Frank (Wilma) Scheffler, Shelbyville,  and  Jack Derauer  and  Mrs. Delores "Sugar" Ross, both of Waldron;  a sister, Mrs. Marguerite Leffler, St. Paul;  seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.  A sister preceded in death.

Burial:  Forest Hill Cemetery.

          Wilbur E. Berauer, 73, retired farmer, died at Heritage House Convalescent Center at 3:20 p.m. Monday.  He had been in failing health several years.
          Mr. Berauer lived most of his life in the Waldron community and farmed until illness forced his retirement.  He was a veteran of World War I and served with the Rainbow Division of the Army overseas.  He was a member of the Waldron Masonic Lodge F. and A.M. No. 217, American Legion Victory Post 70, 40 & 8 and the Waldron United Methodist Church.
Born July 20, 1896 in Waldron, Mr. Berauer was the son of  Edward and  Lilly (Tevis) Berauer.  He married Helen Hall on March 20, 1920, and she died October 20, 1964.  Survivors are one son Wray E. Berauer, Tecumseh, Michigan; one daughter, Mrs. Jo Anne Harshman, Indianapolis; one stepson, James W. Hall, St. Paul, and six grandchildren.  A son, Lt. Wilbur Berauer, a pilot in World War 11, was killed in action, and a daughter, Miss Mary Jane Berauer died October 23, 1969.
          Services will be Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at the Carmony Funeral Home in St. Paul with the Rev. Edgar Cooper officiating.  Burial will be in VanPelt Cemetery with graveside rites by the Masonic Lodge and Legion.  Friends may call at the funeral home after 4:00 p.m. Wednesday.

MISS  BERAUER  DIES  IN  HOSPITAL

          Miss Mary Jane Berauer, 47, 324 Progress Road, died Thursday at 3:45 p.m. at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis, where she had been a patient for a week.  She had been ill with a heart condition for several years.
          Miss Berauer was an employe in the offices of the Penn Central Railroad, Indianapolis.  She was a member of the Waldron Methodist Church and American Legion Auxillary.  The daughter of Wilbur and Helen (Hall) Berauer, Miss Berauer was born in Shelby county February 24, 1922.  Surviving with her father, of Waldron, are two brothers and a sister, Wray E. Berauer of Tecumseh, Michigan; James W. Hall, St. Paul, and Jo Anne Harshman, Indianapolis.
          Services will be Sunday at 3:30 p.m. at the Carmony Funeral Home in Shelbyville, with the Rev. Edgar Cooper officiating.  Burial will be in VanPelt Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home after 4:00 p.m. Saturday.

MRS. BERAUER DIES IN HOSPITAL
Rites Friday For Waldron Resident

          Mrs. Wilbur (Helen) Berauer, 63, of Waldron, died at 7:02 p.m. Tuesday at the Rush County Memorial Hospital.  She has been in failing health for six months and seriously ill for four weeks.
          Mrs. Berauer, the last of a family of five, was a member of the Rebekah Lodge of Waldron, a past secretary of the Past Noble Grand Club and a member of the Waldron Methodist Church.  She was a member of the Legion Auxillary and the 8 and 40 here.  Mrs. Berauer was a vice-committeewoman of the Democrat Party in Liberty Township's West Precinct.
          Born in Shelbyville on October 30, 1900, Mrs. Berauer was the daughter of William and Clara (Beckner) Hall.  She was married to Wilbur Berauer on March 20, 1920, and he survives with four children, James "Jay" Berauer of Geneva, Mary Jane Berauer of Shelbyville, Wray E. Berauer of Waldron and  Mrs. Jo Ann Harshman of Indianapolis.  A son Lt. Wilbur Francis Berauer, was lost in action on November 25, 1944, during World War II.
          Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Carmony Funeral Home in St. Paul.  Rev. John Hoadley will officiate and burial will be in the VanPelt Cemetery.  Friends may call at the mortuary after 2:00 p.m. Thursday.

MRS. BERAUER DIES AT HOME
Life-Long Resident of Waldron Passes Away
After Long Illness

           Mrs. Lillie May Berauer, widow of  Edward Berauer, life-long resident of Waldron, died at her home at 3:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon following an illness of two months.  Death was attributed to heart disease.
          Mrs. Berauer was born on February 18, 1868 the daughter of  Dr. Joel  and  Mary Tevis, pioneer residents of Waldron.  She was united in marriage to Edward Berauer on August 2, 1893.  To this union one child was born, Wilber Berauer of near Waldron, who is now a patient in the United States Veteran hospital in Indianapolis.
          She is survived by a half-brother and a half-sister, Elmer Barton of Waldron and  Mrs. Fannie Bailey of St. Paul, and four grandchildren.  Mr. Berauer preceded in death on December 17, 1934.  Funeral services will be held at the late home at 2:30 o'clock Friday afternoon with the Rev. Amos Bastin, pastor of the Waldron Baptist Church, officiating.  Burial will be in the VanPelt cemetery in charge of Loren H. Murphy, funeral director.

EDWARD A. BERAUER ENDS HIS OWN LIFE
Body Found Hanging In Shed;
Nervous Collapse Said To Be Cause

          Edward A. Berauer, 62 years old, well known resident of the Waldron community, committed suicide by hanging with a rope sometime during last night. The body was found in a shed at the rear of his home in Waldron at 7 a.m. today.  Death was caused from a broken neck.
          Mr. Berauer had suffered from a nervous breakdown for over a year and had been despondent for the past few weeks. 
Before retiring several years ago, Mr. Berauer had served as the Big Four station agent in Waldron.
          The deceased was born in Dearborn county, Indiana on June 25, 1872 and was the son of  John and Catherine Berauer.  On August 1, 1893, he was united in marriage with Lillie M. Tevis, and to this union was born one son, Wilbur Berauer of Liberty township.
          Other survivors include three brothers, Frank Berauer of Mach, Ohio;  Joseph of Hollywood, California; and  John Berauer of Waldron; two sisters, Mrs. George Glaub of Liberty township and  Mrs. Elizabeth Berauer of Hollywood, California; and four grandchildren.  The widow also survives.
          Funeral services will be conducted from the Methodist church at Waldron at 2 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. L. S. Lowell, pastor of the church, officiating.  Interment will be made in the Ogden cemetery in charge of Charles M. Ewing, local funeral director.
