Mrs. Dubois Baker Passed
Away At The Home Of Her
Daughter After A Long
Illness -- Funeral services
Will Be Held At The Late
Home Tomorrow After-
Noon At One O'Clock.
----------
After an illness extending over a period of several months,  Mrs. Dubois Baker  died at the home of her daughter,  Mrs. Noah Bulton,  near the Hancock-Shelby county line yesterday afternoon about three o'clock.  Death did not come unexpectedly, as her condition has been regarded as extremely critical for the past ten days.  While not afflicted with any specific disease Mrs. Baker had arrived at that age when the organs of her body refused to perform their function on account of long and continued use.  Senility is given as the cause of her death.
The deceased was born on a farm near Morristown and has always lived in Shelby and Hancock counties.  She was a daughter of  William Baker  and leaves many relatives in and around Morristown to mourn her untimely absence.  For several years past she has been making her home with her daughter, Mrs. Bulton.  Early in life she united with Christian church at Morristown and she has been a regular attendant at all religious services in the community where she was residing ever since.  She was a sister of the late  Lydia Stone,  who died at her home in Hanover township about one year ago, and whose death occurred on the same farm where Mrs. Baker was born.  On account of her long residence near the scene of her birth Mrs. Baker had an extensive acquaintance and was perhaps the most widely known woman in that part of Shelby and Hancock counties.  Her life was patterned after Him who died on the tree and she numbered her friends by the number of her acquaintances.
The funeral services will be held at the home of daughter tomorrow afternoon at one o'clock, the Rev. Rogers, of Greenfield, officiating.  Interment will be made in the Little Sugar Creek cemetery.

Amos Baker,  a former citizen of this city, and residing for some years near Cynthiana, in this county, while engaged in walling up a well, about two weeks since, was struck by a bucket full of stone which was attached to a rope windless at the top -- the rope breaking just as the person at the top had started the bucket down.  We understand that he died almost instantly.
