Mrs. Hazel Alter, 77, St Paul, died Wednesday
Resident of St Paul for 57 years; born in Homer Nov 10, 1900; d/o  Theodore Brown  and  Laura (Heaton) Brown.  Feb 12, 1921, married  Dr. Wayne Alter  (died May 12, 1968).
Member of St Paul United Methodist Church, the Waldron OES, St Paul Music Club, and the Literary Club of St Paul.
Last surviving of nine children.  Survived by two sons:  William A. Alter  and  J. Robert Alter;  one daughter, Mrs. Mary R. Martin;  eight grandchildren.
Burial will be at Paul Hill Cem.

          DEATH  OF  SOLOMON  ALTER. --- SOLOMON  ALTER,  formerly editor of the Shelby  Banner  in this city, died in Washington City on the 11th inst. of Typhoid Pnewmonia.  At the time of his death he was holding a position as Clerk in one of the departments.  Like all other men, Mr. ALTER  had his good and bad traits of character, but charity commands that the grave should hide the bad ones and the good only be permitted to live in our memory.
