          J.  MORRIS  APPLETON, of  Moral township, is a candidate for the office of  Recorder of Shelby county, subject to the decision of the democratic voters at the primary election, to be held Tuesday, May 4, 1926.

          The case of  Appleton vs Benedict which occupied almost two days in the circuit court was compromised Tuesday afternoon.  Mr. Benedict purchased five feet eight inches of ground from Mrs. Appleton but the price was not given out.
