Richard M. Buckler (my Great
Grandfather) was born 26 Sep 1842 in Laurel Twp,
Franklin County, IN.
He was a farmer. On 28 Sep 1864 in Washington Twp, Shelby County, IN,
he married Charlotte Rebecca Maze, she was born 11 Jan 1844 in Washington Twp,
Shelby County, IN.
They appear on the census for Shelby County,
IN, for the years 1870, 1880 and 1910.
Richard died 20 Feb 1932. Charlotte died 31 Jan 1918 and both are buried
in Norristown Cemetery-Shelby County.
In the Green
Sixtieth Wedding Anniversary picture, Richard is seated to the right of a
man standing to the right of Mr. Green. Charlotte is in front of
him. My grandparents and uncle are also in the picture, at the far left,
my Grandfather, Alonzo Thomas Buckler, is the second man from the end, he has a
very large, dark moustache, his wife Bertha (nee Burch) is at his left wearing
a white blouse and light skirt, my Uncle Russell (age 13) is sitting on
the ground near her feet. I'm not sure which girls are my Aunts: Dorothy
(age10), Grace (age 8) and Hester (age 5). My
Grandma (Bertha)
was pregnant with my dad! My dad's family lived in Norristown and
many of my relatives (including my parents) are buried in the Cemetery at
Norristown.
