Estate of  Ebenezer Cross  decd }
Horatio N. Land, Admr.            } Petition for Assignment of Personal Property to Support of Widow

Comes now into open Court said Administrator together with one  Elizabeth Cross, the Widow of said Decedent and file their petition herein, duly verified by Affidavit, which reads as follows to wit: State of Indiana, Shelby County. In Common Pleas Court November Term 1868.

Now comes into open Court Horatio N. Land Administrator of the Estate of Ebenezer Cross late of said County deceased and also Elizabeth Cross, widow of said Decedent, and show to the Court, that said Decedent died August 1868. That he left him surviving said Widow and several children by a previous marriage. That said Cross was while in life and at his death growing and matured for Sale and yearly provisions Wheat and Corn. That upon the harvest of said Wheat said Administrator allowed and delivered to said Widow of Which for her year's maintenance twenty (20) Bushels of Wheat and for such purpose has set apart to her six Acres of Corn, and they ask that the Court confirm said Action and such disposition of said property.

And the Court having seen and examined said Petition and all things connected therewith and being sufficiently advised in the premises, do confirm the disposition of the above described property by said Administrator for the yearly maintenance of said Widow, and order that she take and freely enjoy the possession of said property for the purpose aforesaid.

Comes now into open Court said Administrator and files and presents to the Court a Report of
his said Trust duly verified by affidavit, and the same reads in the Words and Figures following
to wit:

Horatio N. Land would respectfully show to the Court that he is the Administrator of the Estate
of Ebenezer Cross deceased and as such Administrator makes the following Report.

He charges himself with the Amount of Inventory $1110 57
Excess of Sale Bill over Inventory of property sold 9 82
Amount taken by Widow (inventoried)

He shows that he has paid out more than has yet come into his hands, and that there remains yet

uncollected a large sum of the Sale Bill and indebtedness of said Estate. He asks that his Report
be received and said Estate continued.

Comes now into open Court said Administrator and files and presents to the Court a Report of his said Trust for final Settlement of said Estate, which Report is duly verified by Affidavit and reads in the Words and figures following to wit:

State of Indiana, Shelby County, In the Shelby Common Pleas Court November Term 1870. Horatio N. Land as Administrator of the Estate of Ebenezer Cross decd makes the following as and for his final Report as such Administrator. He charges himself with the amount which he stands charged with in his last Report made to this Court and approved at the November Term thereof 1869 being the Sum of $680.40. Leaving the Sum of $417.88 that has been paid out by this Administrator for said Estate in Excess of what he received, according to the best of his knowledge and belief which amount of $417.88 was advanced out of his individual funds to pay the Debts of said Estate, at the request of the Heirs of the said decedent. He shows that he has paid all demands against said Estate that has come to his knowledge and asks to be discharged. He further shows that he has collected all solvent demands in favor of said Estate and accounted for the same, all of which is respectfully submitted
