Benjamin  Rue  to  George  Sanford

This indenture, made the thirteenth day of July in the year of our Lord, One Thousand Eight hundred and twenty two. Between  Benjamin L. Rue  of the County of Fayette and State of Indiana of the one part, and  George Sanford  of the County of Shelby in the Said State of Indiana of the other part, Witnesseth, that the Said Benjamin L. Rue for and in consideration of the Sum of one hundred & Twenty dollars Lawful money of the united States, To him in hand well and truly paid by the Said George Sanford, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, has granted, Bargained, Sold, Con- veyed and Confirmed, andby these presents does grant, Bargain, Sell, Convey and confirm unto the Said George Sanford his heirs and assigns forever, all that certain piece. parcel, tract or half quarter Section of Land Lying and being Situate in the Said County of Shelby and State of Indiana and de- scribed as follows to wit --- The East half of the South west quarter of Section fourteen in Township fourteen of Range Seven, in the district of Brookville and State of Indiana, containing Eighty acres according to the official Plat of the Survey of Said Lands Returned to the general Land Office by the Surveyor general, which siad tract has been purchased of the united States by the Said Benjamin L. Rue and all the Estate, Right, title, Interest, Claim and Demand of the Said Benjamin L. Rue of, in and to the Said premises hereby Bargained and Sold and Every part thereof, Together with all and Singu- lar the rights, members, privileges, and appurtenances to the same belonging, or in any wise apper- taining, and the rents, issues and proofs thereof: To Have and To Hold, the premises aforewaid, here- by Bargained, and Sold, or meant to intended so to be, with the appurtenances, to the only proper use and behoof of the Said George Sanford his heirs and assigns forever; and the Said Benjamin L. Rue for himself, his heirs, Executors and administrators, does Covenant, grant and agree to and with the Said George Sanford his heirs, Executors, Administrators and assigns, that he is the ture and law- ful owner of the premises hereby granted, and has good rights, full power, and Lawful authority, to Sell and Convey the Same in manner and form aforesaid and further, that he, the Said Benjamin L. Rue, his heirs, Executors, and Administrators will warrant and forever Defend the aforesaid premises, with their appurtenances, and every part and parcel thereof unto the Said George Sanford, his heirs and assigns, against all persons, claiming, or to claim, from or under him or them, or Any of them; or by, from, or under any other persons whomsoever. And  Betsey Rue, wife of the said  Benjamin L. Rue joins with her said husband in the aforesaid Conveyance and signs the same for the purpose of relinquishing her right of Dower in & to said granted premises.  In Witness Whereof, the Said Benjamin L. Rue and Betsy Rue his wife have hereunto set their hands and affixed their seals the day and year first above written.
